The Smith and River website treated menus and photography as structured publishing content. Duffion delivered the custom Genesis child theme, and the implementation is now retired.

A restaurant menu treated as content

Smith and River needed its website to present the restaurant through both its menu and its photography. I built a custom WordPress theme with structured menu content and reusable visual components.

Categories, items, and imagery

The implementation included a menu archive, category navigation, and individual menu-item presentation. Those pieces give the menu a coherent structure instead of leaving it as a single unstructured page.

Gallery and photo-carousel blocks supported the restaurant’s visual presentation alongside the menu. The result combines practical information about the offering with the imagery used to communicate the restaurant’s atmosphere.

Delivered on a custom Genesis theme

The work used a Duffion Genesis child theme. The site was delivered and has since been retired; the case records the implemented menu and publishing system from that engagement.

What this project clarifies

A category view and an individual menu item serve different browsing needs. The custom templates gave both a place alongside restaurant imagery, keeping practical menu information within the same branded presentation.
