# Next.js - Duffion Stack

**Role:** Chief Engineer · SSR drive
**Status:** On

Next.js is the chief engineer, one framework driving the whole ship, from the marketing page to the POS terminal. Storefront, API, auth, and deploy live in a single codebase, so the surface area that can silently break is one repo, not five moving parts that drift apart.
## Why Next.js for the build
Route handlers and Server Components mean the "189 endpoints" of a POS live in the same repo as the UI they serve, one deploy unit, one version, no API/client drift. Data loads in a single round trip, and the framework's typed routes verify your types at the boundary.
The framework now ships on a formal monthly security release cadence and a stable default bundler, which is the kind of reliability you want behind checkout-adjacent code. And the 15→16 major migration (async request APIs, caching semantics) is a well-documented voyage with codemods, so upgrading is a known route, not an expedition.
## What I ship

- Full-stack apps where the UI and the API version together

- Monorepo Next.js builds with Auth.js and Stripe (Esports Platform Relaunch)

- SSR-driven dashboards and point-of-sale frontends

The **%2$s** monorepo and the **%2$s** build are the flagship contracts on this engine, see them below.
