Custom Shopify & Retail Integrations
Connect Shopify to the way your retail business operates
Custom Shopify integration services connect your storefront to the way your retail business operates. I review product identity, stock ownership and order handoffs before building around the supported interfaces and business rules of your systems.

The work behind the service
Fulcrum POS
FULCRUM brings point-of-sale and retail operations together with Shopify integration work. Its case study includes the approved transaction and Command Center screens, showing the product behind these workflows.
Custom Shopify integration services for retail workflows
A product can exist in a store catalog, a point-of-sale system and an online storefront without those systems agreeing on its identity or available stock. Before connecting them, we need to know which record is authoritative and what each update is allowed to change.
FULCRUM provides a concrete example of the retail systems behind this work. Your project starts with your own platforms, permissions and synchronization rules. Its scope follows your operation rather than assuming one retail implementation fits every shop.
Product, inventory and order workflows
Catalog alignment. Map products, variants and identifiers between systems. Decide which fields are managed where, how new records are introduced and how exceptions are reviewed. A one-time catalog migration and ongoing synchronization have different acceptance criteria.
Inventory ownership. Establish the source of stock information, location mappings and the direction of updates. Decide how adjustments, sales and interrupted transfers affect the destination before introducing automation.
Order handoffs. Trace the information that must move after an order is placed and how the receiving system acknowledges it. Retries and duplicate events need deliberate behavior so a repeated request does not silently become repeated work.
Prove a representative flow before expanding it
The first step is to review existing connectors and the access supported by your platforms. We then trace a representative product or order from beginning to end, including a failure or conflict that your team currently handles.
Acceptance cases cover the business rules as well as the API calls. Before rollout, we agree reconciliation checks, deployment responsibilities and a way to recover from an incomplete transfer. API limits, event availability and platform constraints help determine timing and scope.
Keep the integration understandable after launch
Your team needs to know which system to edit, how to recognize an exception and who is responsible for resolving it. Those operating decisions are part of the implementation, alongside the code.
For billing, spreadsheets and other business systems, explore custom API integration services. If the retail workflows keep evolving, ongoing development can cover a prioritized set of improvements after the initial release.
Before we start
Do we need custom development instead of a Shopify connector?
Not always. If a supported connector covers the workflow and its exceptions, it may be the better fit. Custom work is useful when the operating rules or systems require behavior that the available connector does not provide.
Can you connect our existing POS?
That depends on its supported interfaces, permissions and data model. I review those constraints before confirming compatibility or proposing an implementation.
Will synchronization prevent every inventory conflict?
No integration should promise that without examining the operation. We define stock ownership, update timing, conflict handling and reconciliation so the expected behavior and remaining limitations are clear.
Can you migrate a catalog and maintain it afterward?
Those can be separate phases of an engagement. The migration establishes and checks the initial data; ongoing synchronization needs rules for later additions, updates, failures and reconciliation.
