# Docker - Duffion Stack

**Role:** Dockmaster · containers
**Status:** On

Docker is the dockmaster, "works on my machine" becomes "works everywhere," because the box you develop in is the box it ships in, byte for byte.
## What containers buy a deploy pipeline
The first thing Docker buys is a **%2$s**. The PHP 8.3 + Redis + Nginx stack for a production site is defined in a compose file, so a staging disaster recovery is docker compose up, not a memory exercise. If the machine dies, it's rebuilt in minutes.
The second is **%2$s**: a WooCommerce site (PHP), a Next.js app (Node), and a FastAPI agent (Python) run side by side on one machine with zero version conflicts, for a solo dev, that's the whole "server team" in a box. And because the image is the artifact, deploys become promotions: the same image ID reviewed locally is what runs in production. The class of bug "we rebuilt it and it changed" disappears.
## What I ship

- Compose-defined local environments that mirror production

- Multi-stage builds so the runtime image carries no build deps

- One source of truth for every runtime version

The **%2$s** and **%2$s** production deploys (DigitalOcean, Redis, release packets) run on this discipline, see them below.
