QuickBooks Desktop
QuickBooks Desktop migration experience in the ongoing VAST project starts with a read-only Windows exporter. Source records need to retain enough identity and provenance to support mapping and later reconciliation.
Where the engineering matters
I built the exporter with .NET and QBSDK against a bound, restored company-file copy. Separating extraction from destination writes makes it possible to inspect source data before admitting imports into the Zoho workflow.
Work represented in the portfolio
- Read-only company-file extraction
- Source provenance and identity-preserving mappings
- Customer, vendor, catalog, and financial-data preparation
- Evidence for staged import and reconciliation work
VAST remains in progress. Financial and historical reconciliation are not presented as complete. The companion Zoho dossier describes the destination work and .NET covers the exporter runtime.
QuickBooks Desktop migration experience: planning a similar project
A migration brief should identify the source company file, the required records and the checks the project owner needs before accepting the destination. The VAST exporter preserves the source boundary while producing inputs for later mapping and reconciliation.
