Manned

Ionic Cordova project experience includes CampViews, a delivered application for Nevada Diabetes Association staff. Built with Ionic, AngularJS and Cordova, it organized work around the current camp and individual campers.

Where the engineering matters

Camp selection, camper navigation, and individual forms formed a connected mobile workflow. A local data cache and backend API supplied the data layer for check-in, checkout, log sheets, and notes.

Work represented in the portfolio

  • Camp and camper navigation
  • Check-in and checkout forms
  • Staff log sheets and notes
  • Local data caching with backend API integration

The association used this older build and has since retired it. It remains a concrete example of a mobile application organized around the staff’s day-to-day responsibilities.

Ionic Cordova project experience: planning a similar project

CampViews organized its mobile interface around staff responsibilities. Camp selection established the context for camper records and forms. For an inherited mobile product, document those relationships before choosing a replacement stack.

For a new project or changes to an existing system, explore ongoing website and software development.

Review the dependencies behind a hybrid application

An inherited mobile application includes more than the screens people recognize. Identify its web framework, Cordova platform versions and plugins, then list the device capabilities each plugin supplies. The Cordova architecture overview describes the relationship between web content and native device access. That inventory helps a developer assess an update without assuming an old build remains compatible with current devices.

Next, walk through the staff workflow and its data handoffs. Ask which records the device keeps locally, when it contacts the backend and what happens after an interrupted submission. Use those answers to compare a focused update with a replacement. CampViews demonstrates the earlier delivered workflow; a future project needs its own device and dependency review.
