Crew on this contract
The Game Zone NJ website combined product discovery with store events in a custom Genesis child theme. Duffion delivered the reusable blocks and templates for this now-retired retail site.
A store website connecting products and events
Game Zone NJ’s custom website brought product discovery and store events into the same branded experience. The content needed to reflect the retailer’s particular offering, including featured Pokémon products and product categories.
Blocks built around the store
I developed reusable product-list and category blocks, a featured Pokémon product presentation, and event blocks with archive templates. These components give the site a store-specific vocabulary for building its pages.
Product content and events serve different customer needs, but both help describe the store. Keeping them within the same custom theme supports a coherent public presence instead of separating the event activity from the retail catalog.
Delivered and now retired
The implementation was delivered as a custom Genesis child theme and has since been retired. The case records the product and event structures built for that version of the website.
Related retail work: Retro Replay and FULCRUM.
What this project clarifies
Product and event content describe different reasons to visit the store. Giving both reusable structures allowed this implementation to reflect the retailer’s offering without treating every update as a new page design.
